Act
“Act as if! Act as if you're a wealthy man, rich already, and then you'll surely become rich. Act as if you have unmatched confidence and then people will surely have confidence in you. Act as if you have unmatched experience and then people will follow your advice. And act as if you are already a tremendous success, and as sure as I stand here today - you will become successful.”
― Jordan Belfort, The Wolf of Wall Street
Act as if… it says above. That’s not a saying unique to becoming wealthy.
“Anything you dream, you can achieve,” is a familiar rallying cry for people hoping to improve their life.
“Fake it til you make it”, still yet another.
All the above work for person of faith too.
Act as if you have the faith of the ages, and you’ll surely be faithful.
Act as if you have an unmatched prayer life and others will want to pray with you.
Act as if you have unmatched life of service and people will ask you how it’s done.
Act as if you know God, love God, have God’s favor- and God will know you.
It is not at all unusual for a person to ask me how to pray.
It’s not unusual to have someone tell me they don’t know what God is, or IF God is.
It’s not unusual that people don’t know what a spiritual life is all about.
And it’s not unusual for people to feel hated or abandoned by God.
I think our lives are lived wanting to know, wanting to have the final and definitive word on all things.
“Go at it boldly, and you'll find unexpected forces closing round you and coming to your aid.” Basil King
